Digital disruption for the construction industry
In 2019, Schüttflix laid the foundation for the digital evolution of construction site logistics. At the time, we set out with the goal of digitizing the supply of bulk goods to construction sites and connecting all relevant market participants via a neutral platform. We have achieved that – and so much more since then. First, we established ourselves in neighboring European markets. And now we are jump-starting the circular economy in the construction sector.
The evolution of a business model
With the launch of Schüttflix, we were able to deliver the advantages of digitalization to a very analog sector: the construction industry. We connected construction companies, bulk material suppliers and carriers on our free, neutral platform, thus revolutionizing the supply of construction sites.
We then enabled the disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous construction waste via Schüttflix – while taking into account and “automatically” complying with the extensive country-specific legal requirements.
Now we are turning supply into sustainable supply for construction sites by getting a real circular economy off the ground. Because it's time for things to start turning in the construction sector – and for one of the most resource-intensive industries to become more sustainable.
More DATA FOR MORE SUSTAINABILITY & A TRUE CIRCULAR ECONOMY
Schüttflix is a digital pioneer for more sustainability in the construction industry. The first step: fewer emissions through fewer empty runs thanks to intelligent route management. For example, bringing bulk material on the outward journey and disposing of mineral waste on the return journey.
In the next step, we are making the construction industry more sustainable on a larger scale by enabling a genuine circular economy. Data helps us to optimize material flows. We know where potential RC material is generated and where it is needed. This is the basis for a genuine circular economy and thus the opportunity to massively reduce the ecological footprint of the construction sector.

IT ALL STARTED WITH AN INCORRECT UNLOADING
Christian Hülsewig had the idea for Schüttflix. During work on his farm, several tons of bulk material were unloaded incorrectly. However, Christian didn't see a pile of problems in this, but an opportunity: Why not develop an app that enables precise unloading and exploits the potential of digitization for the construction industry?
He brought together professionals from the transport, civil engineering, e-commerce and IT sectors, and they got to work. Within a few months, they had built the Schüttflix app, which we launched in 2019. And with us, the first investors who believed in the Schüttflix idea from the very beginning.
